Summer in the Forest
This painting was inspired by a walk in the woods after a summer rain, when I was captivated by the way the light filtered through the leaves and the glistening reflections in the puddles. A narrow dark stream winds through a deep green forest, slipping past mossy banks and the foot of tall straight trunks. Sunlight breaks through the canopy to light a grassy bank on the right. I tried to capture the feeling of stillness and renewal that permeated the air.
